Ever hear the phrase, “The real treasure is the friends we make along the way”? It may be cheesy, but it’s true. Even the bravest, strongest heroes need a few friends on their quest. Which is why we’re celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day. Show your friends, family, and even complete strangers a bit of kindness and see how that makes the journey so much better.
1. Insert coins into someone’s parking meter
It’s cute, it’s easy, and you could be saving someone from getting a ticket!
2. Let someone go in front of you in line
If you’re not in a hurry, you can make someone’s day by letting them go in front of you in a queue.
3. Help someone carry their shopping
If you see someone struggling with their bags in a parking lot or outside of their home, help ‘em out. It’s free!
4. Buy a stranger a coffee
Most cafes have a pay-it-forward line, so it’s generally super easy to do this. It’s a nice surprise!
5. Send a postcard to a friend
They don’t have to live on the other side of the world to love receiving snail mail postcards. So cute!
6. Volunteer at a charity and help your community out
Your community is a great place to start if you want to do something good for the world!
7. Donate to a foodbank
Help out a family in need with a bag of groceries, or some of the bits in your pantry (that are still good/not expired of course).
8. Share baked goods with your neighbor
If you like baking, a great way to get that nice, fuzzy neighborly feeling is sharing with your neighbor!
9. Buy a friend or someone in your family some flowers
Flowers are such a fun, lovely way to surprise somebody. Everybody loves flowers—yes, even your dad.
10. Pick up litter at the beach or the park
You don’t have to organize a big clean-up. Sometimes it’s good to just start picking up litter at your local park. (Remember to stay safe and wear gloves!)
Whatever you do for Random Act of Kindness Day, do it with your whole heart. Give kindness, get kindness back—and make the world better one kind act at a time. Because that’s what heroes do 💕
