Our 5 Favorite Movie Villains

Our 5 Favorite Movie Villains

3 minute read

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, villains make a good story great. Without a villain, there’s no hero, no conflict, and no plot. Imagine, if you will, Lord of the Rings without Sauron. Harry Potter without Voldemort. Star Wars without the Empire. You get the picture. Today, we list our 5 favorite movie villains with trinkets sure to terrify… and delight.

Sauron

The biggest bad of the most epic proportions, Sauron the Dark Lord came into being at the beginning of time itself. He started off as a good guy, a Maiar named Mairon who sought to bring order to the chaos of the world. But he broke bad when he became obsessed with order and with running the world the way he saw fit.

To cop some ultimate Dark Lord, omniscient vibes, slip the All-Seeing Eye Ring onto your finger.

Hannibal

The gentleman cannibal has intrigued audiences for decades with his wit, style, and intelligence. Unlike most on-screen killers, Hannibal has always been portrayed as having way more panache than your run-of-the-mill murderous lunatic. He even has a sense of justice (however warped), which makes him an unpredictable, almost supernaturally cunning foe—and one of the most entertaining villains to watch.

Channel the mystery of Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs with the Moon Moth Totem Necklace.

Nagini

Originally known only as Voldemort’s pet snake and the final Horcrux, the lore of Nagini was extended in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Nagini’s history is a tragic one; eventually, the Maledictus curse in her blood transformed her into a snake once and for all. And it’s still unclear whether this turned her evil or if she turned evil because Voldemort turned her into a Horcrux. Guess we’ll have to find out.

Nagini’s serpentine grace is reflected in the Coiling Snake Hoop Earrings. These intricate earrings are a perfect way to top off your witchiest, all-black ensemble.

Medusa

Another misunderstood snake lady we love! In many myths, Medusa was a Gorgon, a winged woman that had snakes for hair and a gaze that could turn people into stone. In later myths, it’s said that Medusa started out as a beautiful woman who the god Poseidon coveted. He seduced her in the temple of Athena, and Athena turned Medusa into a monster as punishment for desecrating her temple. Medusa was later beheaded by Perseus, who used her head as a weapon to turn his enemies into stone.

Medusa, now a feminist icon in many parts of the internet, is a complicated mythological figure, and we stan (as the youngins would say). Carry her symbol in the Medusa Snake Ring.

Count Dracula

Bram Stoker’s Dracula is said to be inspired by a real-life nobleman named Vlad the Impaler. (Who we’re pretty sure is dead… maybe.) Stoker’s Dracula went on to inspire many depictions of the quintessential vampire: a powerful, nearly unstoppable force of evil in some stories, and a Byronic anti-hero in others.

Pay homage to Count Dracula with the Awakened Bat Necklace. This darkly romantic piece of jewelry features a double layer of chains and a detailed bat that almost looks like it’s ready to take flight.
