Welcome back to our ongoing blog series about the 22 iconic Tarot cards known as the Major Arcana.
We looked at the first five cards in Part 1, and the next five in Part 2; now’s a great time to go back and read those if you’re just joining us.
But if you’ve been following along and you just can’t wait to learn about the eleventh through fourteenth cards in the Major Arcana, read on!
The Wheel of Fortune
Unlike the famous game show with the same name, this card has nothing to do with solving word puzzles. It symbolizes luck, fate, and chance, and reminds us that the only constant in life… is change.
When this card shows up in a reading, it’s telling us that we should enjoy the good times while we can, because eventually our luck will change for the worse. On the flip side, if things are going poorly, the Wheel tells us to hang in there because better times are coming.
Justice
This card symbolizes balance and fairness. Lady Justice is blind, and she doles out judgment — and consequences — to us all.
Just as Justice rewards dedication and honor, she punishes dishonesty and duplicitousness. When this card shows up in a reading, consider yourself put on notice: for better or for worse, your actions will not go unnoticed.
The Hanged Man
If this card had a subtitle, it would be, “not as bad as it sounds.” The upside-down figure shown on this card is meditating and surrendering to fate.
Drawing this card may indicate that your life is at an inflection point, and your best course of action may be to pause, let go, and let the universe take the wheel. You’ll reach your desired destination, but you may need to make some sacrifices along the way.
Death
Like the Hanged Man, this card sounds more sinister than it really is. The Death card symbolizes transformation and new beginnings.
When this card appears in a reading, it tells you that change is coming, and that may be a very good thing. You get to start fresh and make new (and hopefully) better choices this time around.
Next up: Part 4!
