Harts (or Deer) play a prominent part in the mythology of Valhalla. Eikthyrnir, a stag which stands upon Laeradr, a tree at the top of Valhalla. He grazes on its foilage, and from his antlers drip water. This water drops into the spring Hvergelmir, which then feeds eleven rivers.
The Valknut is a symbol with three interlocking triangles that represent warriors who have given their lives on the battlefield and thus earned their place in Valhalla with Odin. There, they will feast and continue honing their battle skills until the day of Ragnarök.
In Norse mythology, deer antlers represent the growth of the mind and consciousness, while the Valknut has come to symbolize selfless sacrifice for the greater good.
