The All-Father Odin had two wolves as loyal companions and in Viking lore, became associated with warriors. Ulfheðnars were a type of Viking warrior, whose name means “wolf hides” (or werewolf). 

It was said that some Vikings could channel the wolf, becoming impervious to “iron and fire”. This allowed them to to achieve great feats of martial prowess and valor in battle.

This textured pendant features a howling wolf on a Viking battleaxe, a homage to the fearsome spirit of these ancient warriors.
