Various Asian cultures tell of the legend of the mortal cowherd and his true love, the star weaver girl, whose duty was to weave celestial fabrics for the gods. Having fallen deeply in love, the star weaver descended to earth to marry the cowherd in secret and live a mortal life with him.

When the Heavenly Emperor discovered their forbidden love, he was enraged and ordered them separated so the star weaver would return to her duty. In order to ensure that the cowherd could not reach her again, a river was scratched into the night sky.

Missing each other, the Weaver and the Cowherd cried every day. Sympathetic to their plight, the magpies and ravens decided to create a bridge across the Milky Way once a year to allow the lovers to meet.

Since then, on the 7th day of the 7th month every year, all the magpies and ravens in the world gather together and fly up into the celestial realm to form the bridge passing the Cygnus constellation. The Cowherd came to symbolize the star Altair, and the Star Weaver symbolizes the star Vega.

Rain which falls on that day are now believed to be the joyful tears of the star-crossed couple, who are reunited once a year.

These rings feature an open design, allowing them to be easily adjusted to fit on different size fingers.

Inspired by one of the most enduring romantic legends in Asian culture, these pure Sterling Silver rings feature a complementary design evoking a starry bridge across a sky river.

Gold plating at the sides represent both the heavenly light emitted by the happy couple and wishes of good fortune for their relationship.

When joined together, the rings create a star bridge, symbolize the celestial lovers reuniting in eternal love.

A meaningful gift for loved ones, especially in long distance relationships.
