The Egyptian Ankh is the symbol of an Egyptian hieroglyph that represents the word ‘life’ or ‘breath of life’.
The Egyptians believed that a human being’s life and journey on earth are only a part of eternal life. Thus, the ankh has symbolized both mortality and afterlife.
The Egyptians saw the scarabaeus or scarab as a symbol of renewal and rebirth. The beetle was associated with the sun god, and the young sun god was thought to be reborn in the form of a winged scarab beetle every morning at sunrise.
This exquisite handcrafted piece depicts the ancient Ankh on a stylized pair of Scarabaeus horns. Combined, the symbols represent life, renewal and rebirth.
Today, the Ankh is used as a personal amulet for meditation, especially for healing of one's divine energy and spirituality.
The sides of the ring feature the Eye of Ra and the Eye of Horus on their respective sides, representing the sun and the moon.
